How to get to Ostrava

Ostrava, as the capital of the Moravian-Silesian region, is easily accessible in various ways – by plane, train or car.

Ostrava – Mošnov, Leoš Janáček International Airport (OSR)

The duration of the flight from Václav Havel Airport in Prague Ruzyna to Ostrava-Mošnov Airport is approximately 45-60 minutes (the distance is approximately 400 km.).

Katowice – Pyrzowice (KTW), Poland

Katowice (Pyrzowice) Airport (KTW) is located about 125 km from Ostrava, i.e. within a driving distance of approx. 1 hour by bus on a modern highway.

Krakow – Balice Airport (KRK), Poland

The airport in Krakow is located about 160 km from Ostrava, i.e. within a driving distance of approx. 1.5 hours by bus on a modern highway.

Prague-Ruzyně – Václav Havel International Airport (PRG)

(and then the train journey)

There is a direct bus connection from Václav Havel Airport, line AE, to the main train station in Prague (the journey takes about 30 to 40 minutes, the bus leaves every 20 to 30 minutes).

Bus line No. 119 (with an interval of approx. 5 to 10 minutes) goes to Dejvická station. From the Dejvická station, you can take the metro – line A with a transfer at the Museum to line C to the Main Station (the whole route takes approx. 50 min.).

Bus line No. 100 (with an interval of 15 minutes during working hours or every half hour in the evenings and on weekends) ends at the Zličín station. You can get to the Zličín station by metro – line B with a transfer at the Florenc station to line C to the Hlavní nádraží (the whole route takes approx. 55 min.).

TRAIN

The distance from Prague-Hlavní nádraží to Ostrava-Svinov (the recommended exit station) is about 400 km and can be completed by train in 3-4 hours.

Currently, more than 30 direct train lines run daily on the route.

There are three companies providing regular services between Prague and Ostrava (5 to 10 times a day per company) with a limited number of stops and service in modern, very comfortable trains.
